EH&S at RPM - The Importance of Facility Security Protocols TBT
RPM is dedicated to enhancing our workplaces and ensuring that we have a strong health and safety organization that works with our operating companies to drive safe and environmentally sound behaviors in the workplace every day.
Security in our facilities is a very important part of keeping our associates, facilities and assets safe.
Please ensure you follow these best practice guidelines at your location
- All doors and access points are secured when not in use.
- All doors and access points are checked for security after contractors and visitors have left the site.
- The facility has a visitor access policy and designated control point for entrance/exit and visitor sign-in.
- All facility door locks, security cameras, lighting, alarm systems, etc. are tested on a regular basis and if necessary, repaired promptly.
- Security system access or key distribution is strictly administered by designated managers to ensure only authorized personnel have access to the facility.
- Exterior lighting near access points, perimeter areas and in parking lots is adequate and serves as an effective deterrent measure.
- Any security incidents are reported to management promptly.
- Security plans and protocols are reviewed at least annually by local management to ensure adequacy.
- Local police should be contacted immediately in the event of any suspicious activity.
